An invitation to a more intimate engagement with plant life
The Morning - Meeting ...an opportunity to really enter into the experience of observation based on Goethean science.
Using the shape of Exact Sensing...Imagining... Revealing... Participation... we are lead to Inspiration... the firing of the senses...
and towards
The Afternoon - Creating...Receiving ... where we will allow the experience of the morning with the plant itself to inform our bodies more directly through the sensual pleasures of eating and being nourished.
You will be guided by Sarah Cowell in Goethean observation exercises, sensing into the nature and hidden gifts and mysteries of vegetables. We will be based in a beautiful garden, planted with these weekend offerings in heart and mind. A bee garden that has been tended sensitively and to some extent, bio-dynamically, the plants and other beings here are sensitively honed to the life forces of the plants, the people and the earth. Throughout the day we will experience a range of table pleasures based on the inspiration of the garden and in particular, the beetroot. Heather prepares the food with the heart and joy of a consciousness based on gratitude. All of her senses are employed in the imagining of the dish and she will share some of the magic of that creative process throughout the day. We will see and experience how colour, shape, the inner and outer taste will combine to create the outer form and beauty.
How can we create meals in a conscious partnership with the plants?
Is it possible that a meal can become an alchemical and harmonious gift from the plants themselves?
Through light handling and a series of beautiful encounters and conversations with the plants and each other we will spend a couple of late summer days perceiving, receiving and engaging with this incredibly generous vegetable - the beetroot.
How can we find the essence of each plant - that very centre that invites us experience and receive its signature?
Is it possible that through so doing we may even meet more of ourselves and each other?
Of this impulse Sarah and Heather say
The plants have invited us to meet them in many ways over the years. We have each experienced many surprising encounters through painting, drawing, reflecting, meditating, musing, attunement, direct perception, the practice of shamanic traditions and extensive farming and horticultural practices.
Sarah has given herself to the work of plants and their multitudinous gifts through her career as a homeopath and gardener and Heather has been a creative and intuitive cook for many years allowing herself to be guided by the wider sensing of the consciousness of plants as well as an awareness of the people for whom she is preparing the food. Both are profoundly moved by the benevolence of the plant kingdom and very much look forward to opening the space for others to ponder the questions about how we as humans can enter into a more direct engagement to co-create with Nature. Through the lens of wonder and some scientific curiosity about the depth of 'information' that the plant kingdom has access to they will shape the days to see what can be revealed if we allow ourselves to open to our innate faculties of wider sensing and awareness.
